Resources

Working references, written by people who have done the work.

Not a blog. Reference material that solves a real problem on an engagement, whether or not you ever become a customer. Everything here is free and ungated.

GST & GSTR-2B

Reconciling input tax credit to the purchase register, and investigating what does not agree.

Audit documentation

What has to be in the file: working papers, evidence, traceability and review.

Audit workflow & automation

How an engagement runs end to end, and which parts of it can be systematised without touching judgment.

Audit data & extracts

Getting a population out of the client's accounting system in a state you can test.

The export paths that actually work, what each one loses, and how to handle the three problems that break most audit imports: blank ledger names, duplicated vendor masters, and opening balances that do not tie.

Revenue, receivables & cut-off

Testing revenue recognition, debtors and the cut-off either side of the year end.

Bank, cash & treasury

Bank reconciliation, cash verification and treasury controls testing.

Fixed assets & capex

Verifying additions, disposals, depreciation and the physical existence of fixed assets.

Inventory & stock

Stock count observation, valuation and cut-off for inventory.

Testing payroll, statutory dues and employee benefit obligations.

Internal audit & IFC

Internal financial controls testing and internal audit procedures.

Technology, data & AI in audit

How technology and AI actually fit into an audit, and where they don't.

Why these, and not a blog

Reference material, organised by the work it belongs to.

Each item exists because it answers a question we were asked by a practising auditor more than once — and each is useful to a firm that never speaks to us. They are grouped by topic because that is how they get used: nobody reads one purchase testing reference in isolation.

None of it is authoritative. Standards and statutory rules change, and every page says so and tells you to check the current text before relying on it in a file.

Looking for a sample working paper?

Rather than a PDF, there is a complete worked example in the product — a revenue testing paper with its population, sample basis, procedures, exception schedule, tickmark legend and sign-off block, exactly as Lekhya produces it.

Something missing?

If there is a reference your team keeps rebuilding by hand, tell us. If it is useful to more than one firm, we will write it and publish it here without a form in front of it.
